This is an interesting article on the impact of aid on African societies and economies. It confirms the belief of the African Workshop that creating sustainable, self-sufficient projects is the key. Amadou and the rest of Groupe Africa Son have recorded some new tracks with a French producer out in Mali so we should have another album out soon. There is also a shipment of the first album – Mali La – coming over from France as we speak. Just in time for Christmas…

News from Bamako is mostly good – Amadou and the team are feeding and teaching 25-30 kids a day and the project is going really well.
