Addicted to aid?

This is an interesting article on the impact of aid on African societies and economies. It confirms the belief of the African Workshop that creating sustainable, self-sufficient projects is the key. We aim to create genuine businesses and social enterprises that will provide jobs training and opportunities to children and thier families in Bamako.

There are now 44 children attending the workshop every day – four whole football teams! We are struggling to raise money to pay for food and materials and all donations are gratefully recieved. We’re hoping to go out in the New Year (with bags of football boots and shirts) to get the next phase underway and to look for a piece of land….
