Creative Junction
A huge thank you to Creative Junction for running an incredible day of events last week at Inter-change. They invited 200 young people to take part in workshops and to discuss ways that creativity can help build bridges, start dialogues and break down barriers.
I was invited to speak about The African Workshop and to help out with creative sessions – one of a group of organisations working around the world. I was blown away by the passion, intelligence and ambition of the young delegates. There were so many astute ideas and a genuine desire to get stuck in and to make an impact.
Unfortunately many of the international artists who had been scheduled to attend were turned away at the border, victims of the tightening immigration rules which are locking out artists and academics. The Creative Junction team did an incredible job in the face of these very-last-minute problems – and I was extremely happy to be part of the solution!
Check out Create Compete Collaborate, another great project that these guys are involved with…

Hi Ben,
It’s great that you’ve put an article on here about the Inter-Change 2010 day. I wonder if I could be cheeky & also ask you to mention ‘Create Compete Collaborate’ (we were also involved in organising the event). If you could put a link to our website (www.createcompetecollaborate.org.uk/) – that would be great. We need the publicity! Warm wishes,
Miles.
Hi Ben,
It was great to meet you at Interchange and thanks a lot for the workshop and for bringing those amazing music instruments! All the best, Gloria
